So who is Pareto and why is his law so important? Well, he was a economist, sociologist, and engineer (i.e. a genius). He mathematically proved that 80% of outputs result from 20% of inputs and that this rule applied to almost every area of life:

2. Wealth distribution: 80% of all wealth and income is possessed 20% of people. Ever heard of a thing called the income gap?
3. Sales: 80% of your profits come from 20% of your products. If you want to make more money, start promoting the 20% of products that bring in most of your money.
4. Customers: 80% of sales come from 20% of your customers. I hope you're bending over backwards to please the 20%!

How To Increase E-Mail Open Rates
You can write the most persuasive e-mail ever know to man, but it doesn't do much good if nobody opens to read it, right?
So, how do you increase your open rates?
Here are a few suggestions:
1. Start with writing a compelling subject line that entices your readers to open. The 3 most obvious (and common) types of subject lines are urgency, curiosity, and controversy.
2. Segment your list. Dividing your subscribers into sub-lists will allow you to tailor your messages directly to their interest AND since you're mailing to a smaller number...you'll likely see an automatic increase in your open and click-through percentages.
3. Prune your list of inactive subscribers. You should be able to monitor bounced e-mail addresses and separate additional, inactive subscribers from those that are active.
The biggest thing to remember is not getting caught up with what you hear everyone else saying.
Someone might get a 50% open rate compare to, say, your 5%...but they're likely mailing to a FRACTION of the amount of subscribers.

Problem-Solving Method From 1946 Revealed.
In 1946 at age 20 while working in the "Inventions Inspection"
department of the Caspian Sea flotilla of the Soviet Navy, a young man
made a remarkable discovery about how to solve problems.
Aiming to capitalize on his discovery, in 1948, he sent a dangerous letter addressed as follows: "Personally to Comrade Stalin". He explained that the approach to solving problems in the USSR was chaotic and filled with ignorance about innovation. At the end of the letter he made an outrageous statement: There was a method that could revolutionize the world and produce invaluable results. For this great insight, Stalin banished him to a Siberian Gulag (concentration camp) where he worked 12-hour days.
After Stalin died in 1953, he was released. He studied 200,000 patents and discovered there were only 1500 basic problems that could be easily fixed by using the right principles. He developed a sequence of steps that could solve virtually ANY problem.
In the past I had wondered why no 2 marketers can execute a supposedly step-by-step solution in the same way and achieve the same result. It's not just a simple case of a product that can't please everyone; it's that no 2 person share the same thinking process.
The way we think and act is what makes us unique. With this 1946 method, we can hypothesize scenarios and possible solutions according to our own reasoning and apply them in full confidence that it is how we want to make things work.
Imagine if only you have full knowledge of this method, how many problems—no matter the size and its nature—can you solve:
* Problems with your money
* Problems with finding your target market
* Problems with building your list
* Problems with your relationships
* Problems with your work

A membership site model need not always be of the "recurring subscription" type.
Do you think you know what a membership site really is?Here's all a membership site is: a place where people can login using a username and password to get to their stuff.
Membership sites DON'T have to be this thing where people pay you month after month to get access!
I hope that gets you motivated to make your first, if not next membership site, because it suddenly got a lot easier.
If you have a one-hour video, just ask $47 for it. People pay 47 bucks one time, then get their login and can watch your video.
If they refund, they're kicked out. Simple as that. No further payments after that first one.

Do customers always want the lowest price? Not always, it seems.
A software company selling to both consumers and professionals priced their software at $79 per copy, which they thought would appeal to both segments. But it appealed to neither: consumers found it too high, and it communicated "not a serious tool" to professionals.
Solution: Focus on the professional market and raise the price to $129. When the company did so, sales soared. Lesson: despite your intuition to the contrary, the best price is often not the lowest price.

Easiest way to churn out slideshow videos yet!

I had come across a piece of advice on creating the simplest slideshow video in the shortest amount of time:
1) Create your slides in PowerPoint.
2) Record your voice-over elaborating on the slides in detail.
3) Use Windows Movie Maker to overlay the slides with your audio.
Problem is you still need to learn editing skills to 'cut' your slides for perfect timing. It's already too much work when I have to look after most other Internet Marketing aspects of my business.
Thank goodness for Video Spin Blaster! All you need to do is:

Aside from googling older sales letters from big-name publishers and copywriters, here are 3 ways you can build your own swipe file:
1. Keep an eye on that "junk mail" you receive. In fact, try to get on lists that are related to your niche, to start getting different offers in the mail. For example, if you write for the health industry, subscribing to a men or women's health magazine would be a great start.

Developing Your Optimal Selling Strategy

In past issues, I've recommended that you have a "bait piece"—a
special report, whitepaper, or other informational premium you give away
to generate leads for your product or service.
But many marketers don't produce info-premiums because of the research and writing work involved.
An easy way to get around this is to visit the U.S. government's Publications.USA.gov. There are loads of how-to and information booklets on a wide range of topics such as money, health, travel, housing, nutrition, computers, small business, and more.
If you find one that would make a good info-premium for your business, you can print or download the text, put your own cover on it, print copies, and use it as your own freebie—without paying Uncle Sam a dime!
How? Most of these publications are not copyrighted, so the U.S. government allows you to use them for your own purposes (they do appreciate if you credit them as the source).
Warning: Be sure to check the publication for copyright notices. If the booklet you selected is copyrighted, then you can't use it.

Create your positioning statement
If you want to get your message across, it has to be memorable. The
purpose of a Positioning Statement is to create a short message that
people will remember.
The first sentence tells people what your service is and how they will benefit from it. The second sentence tells how your service is different from that of other firms.
The formula goes like this:
* [Name of firm] is a [category] firm that helps [primary clients] achieve [primary benefits].
* Unlike other [category] firms, [name of firm] specializes in [primary difference].
Example:
"ABC is an architectural firm that helps medium-sized businesses find and renovate unique commercial spaces. Unlike other architectural firms, ABC specializes in this type of renovation."
Using this simple formula, you can get at the essential description of what your firm does that's different from other firms, and make your message more memorable.

After making your sales presentation, pause, and ask the prospect: "How does that sound—good, bad, or terrible?"
If the prospect answers "good", you can proceed to the next step in the sales cycle. If the prospect answers "bad" or "terrible", ask her what she doesn't like. Then address these concerns so you can move the sale forward.

Be a better networker
1 - As soon as possible after meeting new contacts, jot down notes on
the back of their business card. Your notes should include memory
joggers (mustache, red hair), reminders of where you met, what you
discussed, and things you have in common.
2 - The next day, transfer their details and your notes into your contact management system.
3 - Follow up. Send a short note or e-mail to strengthen the initial contact. Note: unless sales information was specifically requested, your first follow-up should not be marketing-oriented.

Don't be an affiliate pest.
An "affiliate pest" is a newbie Internet marketer who thinks she can
convince a bigger Internet marketer to promote her product as an

to get a commitment.
It's OK to query and to follow-up in a reasonable manner. But not every day. Even more important: don't write a huffy e-mail complaining "I haven't heard from you" to the person you're trying to recruit as an affiliate.
Yes, all the big and even the medium-size (like me) Internet marketers today are inundated with requests from people who want us to promote their products to our lists.
But that means we're busy. We have many other projects going. So we can't respond to requests for joint ventures as quickly as we like.
Acknowledge this, and you have a chance. Pressure us, and we'll avoid you like the plague.

A simple rule of thumb for copy length
When deciding whether you need long copy or short, whether in a
landing page, e-mail, or sales letter, follow this simple rule: short
copy for generating leads, longer copy for generating orders.
"As a general proposition, an ad in which you are seeking only inquiries should be short, merely leading the reader down to the free booklet and the coupon," writes copywriter Robert Collier, "whereas an ad in which you are attempting to make the actual sale should be long enough to tell all about your offer.
"Some authorities will tell you to write only short, crisp ads, with plenty of white space—others to crowd in every word you can get. Both are wrong. There is no hard and fast rule as to how long an ad should be, except that it should be long enough to tell your story, but short enough to hold your reader's interest."
