SBS is so over-bandied around to make us look dumb that it’s becoming a cliche in copywriting language. I do find it fascinating that 2 different persons reading the same IM secret can walk away with very different ideas and for better or worse, one succeeds and the other fails!

I think one key proponent in the overall learning process is visualization. Some of those who fail may be missing this. In self-development context, it’s not just imagination, but really seeing in one’s mind what and how a person should do something to bring about a solution and a result. Part of the visualization process may involve quiet time and meditation but that’s another story for another time.

Today for the benefit of those who perform best in a visual learning style, you have something very good. You may have heard of process maps by Mike Filsaime and Mark Joyner before.

His impression is a lot of Internet marketers understand the concept of systematizing marketing and business processes, but very few have taken the time to apply proven processes and systematize their businesses. Part of the fault lies with the lack of much simpler presentations and something which people can take home with. There's a relatively new autoresponder service that I think you ought to know, especially if you are a newbie just starting in Internet Marketing.

10 Tips for Using Videos to Market Your Business

Even if you're not selling video-based products, you should be using video to market your business.

That's because different customers respond better to video than they do to text.

When you use both text and video, you're reaching a wider audience than you would with text alone.

Here then are 10 tips and tricks for using video to market your business:

1. Keep 'em short

Whether you're loading videos on YouTube or you're using them to pre-sell products on your blog, keep them short (around five minutes or so)...especially if your audience includes people who don't know you.

If needed, break a long video into multiple smaller videos. From experience, I found that if people knew beforehand how short they can expect a video to be, they will be more willing to sit through it.

2. Post videos on your sales pages

You can use video salesletters to highlight the main points of your regular salesletter. You can also use videos to demonstrate what the product is and how easy it is to use.

You may also get your satisfied customers to give you video testimonials.

3. Choose your keywords carefully

If you're loading your videos onto YouTube, choose keywords that your market is currently using to find information in your niche.

You may also choose keywords that match those being used alongside other popular videos in your niche.

4. Know your purpose before you start

Before you film, choose one purpose for your video. Is it to get subscribers? Send traffic to your blog? Pre-sell a product?

Whatever the reason, base your entire video around that singular goal.

Don't confuse your viewer by giving more than one option.

5. Create a call to action

3 ways to build credibility

Here are 3 things you can give—or give up—to others to build credibility with them:

1. Material wealth: For instance, giving a customer a full refund—even when you don't legally have to.

Invent your own words

Want to make your product stand out? Invent a new term to describe it.

Consumer example: Miller Brewing advertising its beer as "cold filtered".

Business example: Mike Hammer called his approach to business improvement "re-engineering".

Advantage: if people accept the term and it gains popular usage, you own it.

Disadvantage: new terms don't always catch on, and if they don't, they may not be clearly understood (i.e. "what is re-engineering exactly?").

The ideal length for a web page

According to web expert Gerry McGovern, the ideal length for a page of web content on a regular website (not a landing page) is 300 words. He says 50% of visitors will read a 300-word page to the end, while only 5% will scan 1,000 words.

Headlines should be 4 to 8 words, sentences 15 to 20 words, and paragraphs 40 to 70 words. Hyperlinks should be in the right-hand column, not embedded within the body copy. Reason: links in the body copy distract readers, making it difficult for them to read the paragraph.

Here are your 10 tips for using social media to drive traffic to your websites...

1. Complete your profile

When you first open your Twitter, Facebook, Squidoo or other social media site account, fill out your profile including a picture). Doing so makes it easier for people to get to know you and build relationships with you, which will make it more likely they'll click through to your site.

2. Interact

Social sites are, by definition, social. They're two-way streets (not monologues). That's why you shouldn't just post content and move on. Instead, spend a few minutes each day interacting and getting to know people in your network.

3. Include a link to your site on your profile page

This tip is simple but effective: Give people a reason to click through from the social media site to your blog or squeeze page. A promise of a free solution usually makes for a good enticement.

4. Ask your followers to "retweet" and repost

If you create a "buzzworthy" post (such as a post on a hot or even controversial niche topic), ask your Twitter followers to "retweet" it and ask your other social media networks to repost it.

5. Spend time each day growing your network

Commit to spending at least 10 minutes each day growing your network. You'll see big results by the end of the month. And you'll be amazed at the size of your network in 6 months or a year from now.

6. Link your social site pages together

Link your Twitter account to your Facebook, MySpace, Squidoo, Hubpages and other social media pages...

7. Use your real name so that you're easy to find

People who want to do business with you won't respond well to working with "BaseballBoy72". Instead, build trust by using your real name. Doing so also makes it easier for others to find you on Facebook and similar sites.
