3 Newsletter Strategies For Making More Sales

Online newsletter publishing is one of the easiest ways to generate sales. You can send traffic to whatever website you want, simply by telling your subscribers where to go. But getting them to click on the link in your mail takes a bit of pre-planning. Let’s take a look at some simple ways you can increase your clickthrough ratios and your sales.

1. Format your e-mail: People are used to reading magazines, newspapers and websites with short lines. Format your e-mail newsletter the same way. It looks clean and gives your newsletter a professional style.
Set your line length to 50 characters. You can either use a hard return at the end of your lines or use a formatting program to do the work for you.

2. Write to one person: Your subscribers don't all huddle together around one computer to read your newsletter, they read it one at a time. So write your newsletter to one person and write it like that one person is your best friend.

I still see newsletters that address me as if I was sitting in an auditorium full of subscribers. The latest one I read was from a happy publisher that said, "You guys are the best, I just won a contest because of all the stuff you bought." There's only me in my office, not a bunch of other guys :)

3. Only one link at a time: Even if you have lots to say in your newsletter, limit the number of links to one. When you include multiple links, your readers get confused and you lose sales. Your linking strategy is one link –> one product –> one sale (from each subscriber).

If you publish a newsletter, implementing these 3 pointers will bump up your sales.
